Artificial Intelligence is no longer a distant conversation about the future. It is already transforming how people work, businesses operate, industries compete, and economies evolve.

And now, Africa is stepping into that conversation with a bold declaration.

AI FEST AFRICA 2026 is coming to Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Hosted by Harvoxx Tech Hub, AI FEST AFRICA is being positioned as one of the continent's most ambitious gatherings focused on Artificial Intelligence, innovation, business, talent development, and the emerging AI economy.

With the theme "Redefining Africa's Future Through AI" and the tagline "One Continent. One AI Future.", the festival is designed to bring together the people building, funding, regulating, adopting, and shaping the future of AI across Africa.

And this is not designed to be another conference where people sit, listen to speeches, take pictures, and go home.

AI FEST AFRICA is being built as an experience, ecosystem, and launchpad for the next chapter of Africa's technological transformation.

Africa Is Not Watching the AI Revolution

For years, Africa's technology story has often been told through the lens of potential.

AI FEST AFRICA wants to change that narrative.

The festival will create a platform where African innovators are not simply discussing what AI could do, but demonstrating what it is already doing.

From startups building AI-powered products to businesses automating operations, from young people learning how to build with AI to investors looking for the next major opportunity, AI FEST AFRICA will bring different parts of the ecosystem into one room.

According to Stewart Ezekiel Jnr, Team Lead and Co-Founder of Harvoxx Tech Hub, the festival represents a deliberate attempt to move the conversation around AI from awareness to action.

"Africa cannot afford to sit on the sidelines of the AI revolution. We have the talent, creativity, problems, markets, and entrepreneurial energy to build incredible solutions. AI FEST AFRICA is our statement that Africa must not only consume the future—it must participate in building it."

He added:

"We want people to leave AI FEST AFRICA not just inspired, but equipped. We want them to see what is possible, learn something practical, meet someone who can change the trajectory of their business or career, and most importantly, begin building."

Six Experiences. One Massive AI Movement.

AI FEST AFRICA will feature multiple experiences designed to serve different segments of the AI ecosystem.

1. Keynote Experience

The festival will bring together industry leaders, AI founders and engineers, corporate executives, government and policy stakeholders, and international voices to examine where AI is heading and what it means for Africa.

The keynote experience will go beyond generic conversations about Artificial Intelligence.

It will explore the economic, technological, social, and business implications of AI and challenge Africa's leaders and innovators to think bigger.

2. Live AI Demonstrations

AI FEST AFRICA will put AI on stage.

Attendees will watch live demonstrations of AI being used to build websites and applications, automate businesses, create content, analyze information, deploy AI agents, and solve practical problems.

The goal is simple: don't just tell people what AI can do. Show them.

3. Hands-on AI Labs

The festival will also create opportunities for attendees to learn by doing.

The AI Labs will cater to different levels of experience, from beginners exploring no-code AI tools to intermediate participants learning automation and workflows and advanced builders exploring APIs, LLMs, and AI development.

The philosophy is straightforward:

Come curious. Leave capable.

4. AI + Business Zone

One of the central questions surrounding AI is not simply "What can AI do?"

It is:

"What can AI do for my business, industry, and career?"

The AI + Business Zone will explore AI applications across entrepreneurship, SMEs, education, healthcare, financial services, oil and gas, and other sectors.

Sessions will focus on practical adoption, business transformation, productivity, automation, and the opportunities emerging from the AI economy.

5. Money In AI Zone

Perhaps one of the most anticipated experiences will be the Money In AI Zone.

As AI creates new professions, businesses, services, and income opportunities, this zone will explore the commercial side of the revolution.

How can young people monetize AI skills?

What AI-powered businesses can entrepreneurs build?

How can professionals create new income streams?

Where are the emerging opportunities in Africa and the global marketplace?

The Money In AI Zone is designed to move the conversation from "AI is changing the world" to "Here is how you can participate economically."

6. AI Build Challenge

AI FEST AFRICA will also feature an intense AI Build Challenge designed to bring builders together to solve real African problems.

Teams will work through a 24–48-hour build sprint, receiving mentorship from experienced professionals before presenting their solutions to industry experts, investors, and judges.

Winning teams will have the opportunity to receive cash prizes, incubation opportunities, investor access, and support from Harvoxx Tech Hub.

The objective is not simply to win a hackathon.

It is to discover solutions that can potentially become real products, companies, and movements.

The AI Innovation Expo & Exhibition Village

Beyond the stages and learning experiences, AI FEST AFRICA will create a physical marketplace for innovation.

The AI Innovation Expo & Exhibition Village will feature AI startups, technology companies, corporate organizations, universities and research institutions, government agencies, innovation hubs, hardware and robotics companies, and other organizations pushing the boundaries of technology.

For businesses, this presents an opportunity to showcase products, meet potential customers, generate leads, recruit talent, and connect with decision-makers.

For attendees, it provides an opportunity to experience innovations firsthand.

"We Want People to Experience AI, Not Just Hear About It"

For Sandra Ogbonna, Lead Program Coordinator of AI FEST AFRICA, the diversity of experiences is central to the festival's design.

"AI FEST AFRICA is deliberately designed for different kinds of people. Whether you are a student trying to understand AI, a professional wondering how AI will affect your career, a founder building a company, or a corporate leader looking for practical ways to adopt AI, there will be something for you."

She explained that the festival's programming is being designed around one major objective: making AI accessible, practical, and actionable.

"We don't want attendees to sit through a day of technical jargon. We want them to see AI, interact with AI, build with AI, ask questions, meet people, discover opportunities, and leave with something they can apply immediately."

A Festival Powered by People

Behind a festival of this scale is a large network of people working to make the experience possible.

From programming and logistics to partnerships, communications, volunteer coordination, production, and attendee experience, the festival will be powered by a growing community of individuals committed to making AI more accessible across Africa.

Melody Friday, Volunteer Coordinator for AI FEST AFRICA, believes the volunteer community will be an important part of that experience.

"Our volunteers are not just people helping at an event. They are part of the movement. They will be the faces welcoming attendees, helping people navigate the experience, supporting sessions, connecting people, and creating the energy that makes a festival memorable."

She added:

"We are bringing together young Africans who are excited about technology and giving them an opportunity to contribute to something much bigger than themselves."

Why Port Harcourt?

The choice of Port Harcourt is intentional.

Often recognized for its strong connection to the oil and gas industry, Port Harcourt is also home to a growing community of technology professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators, creatives, students, startups, and young people building new possibilities.

AI FEST AFRICA aims to contribute to the city's evolution into a major technology and innovation destination.

The ambition is bigger than hosting an event in Port Harcourt.

It is about putting Port Harcourt on the map as a city capable of hosting conversations and experiences that matter to Africa and the world.

More Than a Conference

At its core, AI FEST AFRICA is built around a simple belief:

Africa's future should not be designed for Africa. It should be designed with Africa.

The continent has some of the world's youngest populations, rapidly expanding digital economies, ambitious entrepreneurs, and complex challenges.

Artificial Intelligence presents an opportunity to approach those challenges differently.

From healthcare to agriculture.

From education to financial services.

From oil and gas to creative industries.

From startups to government.

From individual professionals to multinational corporations.

The question is no longer whether AI will affect Africa.

It already is.

The question is what Africa will do with it.

AI FEST AFRICA wants to be part of that answer.

AI FEST AFRICA 2026.

Theme: Redefining Africa's Future Through AI.

One Continent. One AI Future.
