Delta State Hosts 3-Day DTW Hackathon

The Delta State Government recently hosted a dedicated 3-day hackathon as a key component of the inaugural Delta Tech Week (DTW) 2025. This hands-on event provided 20 selected participants with a focused environment to develop innovative solutions, including government-provided accommodation in an apartment to support uninterrupted collaboration.
The hackathon ran from Monday to Wednesday, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in ideation, prototyping, and refinement. The state's support included lodging, meals, and dedicated workspaces, creating optimal conditions for the young innovators to tackle real-world challenges.
On Wednesday around 4 PM, the event concluded with presentations before a panel of judges. The experts evaluated the projects based on criteria such as innovation, practicality, potential impact, and execution quality. From the 20 participants, the top 3 projects were selected and recognized.
This hackathon is part of the broader Delta Tech Week 2025 initiative, themed "Building Delta’s Digital Future," which ran from December 1–5 in Asaba and featured additional activities like exhibitions, summits, and a developers' festival.
