Ryder Energy
Bringing solar-powered food preservation directly to farms; reducing food/income loss for farmers.
About the startup
What are you building?
Ryder Energy has built solar-powered mobile cold storage carts that preserve crops at the point of harvest inside the farms, reducing post-harvest losses and increasing farmer incomes. We combine this with AI and IoT-powered soil health diagnostics to help farmers improve productivity. Our affordable pay-per-use and subscription model brings storage and smart farming solutions directly to farms and markets, improving food security while reducing climate-related emissions.
Problem you're solving
Nigeria loses up to 40-50% of perishable food after harvest due to limited access to cold storage, zero access to electricity while poor soil health reduces farm productivity. These challenges lower farmer incomes, increase food insecurity, and contribute to food waste &methane gas emissions.
