Moniepoint MFB welcomed comedian Anita Asuoha, known professionally as Real Warri Pikin, to its family on July 10, 2026. The announcement came through an official post on the company's X account at 16:14 GMT.

The post featured a video and carried the hashtag #madeforyourprogress. It received three likes, three replies and roughly 2,300 views in its first hours. Asuoha confirmed the move on her own X profile, writing that the rumors were true and that the African Queen of Comedy had joined the Moniepoint family.

Moniepoint MFB, registered as Moniepoint Microfinance Bank Limited, offers banking, payments, loans and business tools targeted at small and medium enterprises. The Financial Times has described the firm as Africa’s fastest-growing financial institution. The company maintains a focus on financial inclusion and previously partnered with Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission to digitize more than two million small businesses, with a target of reaching 30 million enterprises within five years.

The July 10 announcement follows a similar pattern established in 2025 when Moniepoint named footballer Victor Osimhen as a brand ambassador under the same #madeforyourprogress campaign. Real Warri Pikin brings more than four million Instagram followers and a career that includes stand-up comedy, acting and hosting. She has previously served as a brand ambassador for Purna Gummies in 2025. Her addition expands Moniepoint’s use of high-profile Nigerian entertainers to reach everyday consumers and business owners.

The timing aligns with Moniepoint’s June 2024 relaunch of its personal banking referral program. Managing Director Babatunde Olofin has previously highlighted customer-centric initiatives and the importance of financial inclusion for underserved populations. Nigerian fintechs increasingly turn to comedians and entertainers to build trust and visibility in markets where traditional advertising reaches fewer potential customers.

This partnership gives Moniepoint access to a performer with pan-African appeal and a track record of relatable content. Real Warri Pikin’s audience spans Nigeria and the broader African diaspora, demographics that overlap with the small-business owners Moniepoint targets. For the comedian, the move adds a financial-services platform to her portfolio of commercial relationships.

Moniepoint gains a recognizable face for campaigns that emphasize progress and accessibility. The company already runs referral programs and ambassador deals; pairing these tools with a comedian known for everyday humor could accelerate user acquisition among informal traders and micro-enterprises. Competitors in the Nigerian fintech space may face pressure to secure similar cultural figures to maintain visibility.

Observers will watch for any formal announcement of Real Warri Pikin’s exact role, contract length or specific campaigns. Moniepoint has not disclosed whether she will appear in advertising, participate in referral drives or support product launches. Additional details on start date and deliverables are expected in the coming weeks as the partnership develops.
